As you probably know by now, this is the newest offbeat film from Yorgos Lanthimos. It’s actually three short films with a common cast. It’s nearly three hours long and I hated every minute of it. Movie Nation gives a good summary.

I have to kind of agree with him. I’m looking forward to seeing the nudity in 4K, but I’m not thrilled with the fact that I’ll have to watch the movie to see the nude scenes.
If he made his movies without any nudity, I would probably take a pass.

Considering she spent like the first decade of her adult career not doing any nudity at all, I’m fine with her making up for lost time.
Not me. When I saw her nekkid in Poor Things my first thought was, she made a good decision keeping her clothes on for the first part of her career. As far as I’m concerned, seeing her nude body is a negative, not a positive. But showing that unappealing body no doubt contributed to her winning the Oscar (“she’s so brave!”)
To those who enjoy looking at her without clothes on, enjoy! I can no doubt find someone else to ogle that appeals to my tastes more.
I don’t know much yet about this new Emma Stone movie, other than it apparently is even stranger than Poor Things, which is saying something. I thought Poor Things was an interesting, well-made movie with a great performance by Emma Stone. At the same time, it was a movie that I ‘appreciated’ much more than I enjoyed. Actually, I found it kind of oppressive even to the point of being depressing. And although it had all sorts of nudity and sex, it was not very sexy at all. It was more a chronicle of abuse, even if she triumphed over it in the end. Not a film that I would willingly watch again. I might give the new film a pass.
I don’t care if Hunter is transgender. She’s pretty. I’ve seen this film. Not my favorite Lanthimos film but it’s still awesome.

I had to put up for 2+ years with people gaslighting me that it was their ‘right’ to spread a deadly disease. Surely you can live with man claiming to be women and women claiming to be men since it doesn’t effect your life in the slightest.
Don’t expect me to play along. Then it won’t affect my life in the slightest. I’m not calling anyone Mx or They or Ze or whatever bullshit they make up.
I think that there is a tendency to greatly over use the term “hate” in discussing this subject. Disagreement does not by itself mean hatred. I have very similar views on most issues, Including LGB, to those who would consider themselves as ‘liberal’, but there are numerous underlying conceptual matters on which I disagree with the current transgender movement. I think we as a society are making a big mistake in this regard. And I say this despite having a transgender child. I do not hate my child – I have a good relationship with ‘them’. I support them emotionally, with my time and financially. But I grieve.

I dunno… as much as I like Emma Stone, I don’t like to see her naked…
I might like to see her naked if she were presented in the right context, with the right lighting. Those Lanthimos movies tend to present her in the weirdest, most unflattering ways.
She is definitely has unusual looks, but I still find her very attractive, clothed and naked. I agree though that Lanthimos does not flatter her. His movies are pretty strange, and he makes everyone in them look strange.
