R.I.P. George Wendt, age 76
He’s the second member of the main Cheers cast to pass away since the show ended, following Kirstie Alley. (Nicholas Colasanto, who played “coach,” died during the show’s run.)
Some of the actors playing secondary characters have passed on: Jay Thomas, who played Carla’s husband; and Harry Anderson, who played a lovable grifter named Harry the Hat.
Cliff’s mom, Frances Sternhagen, also passed a few years ago
