Uncle Scoopy's world-weary musings about naked celebrities, sports, humor and other important, manly things.
I finally managed to score a better copy of Addio, Alexandra, the film which contains almost all of Pier Angeli’s career nudity. It’s better, but still not good. The colors are so faded that it’s essentially in sepia-and-white. You would never know it from this DVD, but this was a…

Well, she definitely was not repulsive looking, was she?
She was and still is spectacular, absolutely one of the greatest modeling bodies of all time, if not THE greatest, but I can see why the director wanted her to gain some weight for Sirens, to make her look more “normal.” It’s odd to think that there are people with such super-human beauty that they have to take action to make themselves look like humans.
I remember reading that she had to gain 20 pounds to appear naked in Sirens. I was wondering how many “normal” woman wanted to just kill themselves when they learned that she looked like that after ADDING the 20?
Still the gold standard.
I agree. But somehow she is not to my taste. Too much of a perfect ‘Barbie Doll’ look. I know that I am likely in a distinct minority on that point, but that is fine. There is room for some subjectivity here. 😊
You are definitely in a minority. And to think that Billy Joel was going back and forth between Elle and Christie Brinkley back in the early 80s. Man, what a life.
