I see her as something like Carey Mulligan. That YouTube does reinforce her image of being rather a nice person. I dunno what platform showed Normal People split into two seasons. IMDB calls it a MiniSeries with episodes 1-12. I watched them straight thru, read the book, & then rewatched, lather-rinse-repeat, for a week. There doesn’t need to be a season two. IMHO.
Sally doesn’t think so, either. She participated in making the show. The relatively few changes for the show took pains to drive home that very point. This story is all about young life. Its Romance genre is merely one of its guises. Readers & viewers who’re too tangled up in the happily-ever-after trope don’t get what they want. Seriously, they don’t get the story at all. It’s modestly complicated, sure. But it’s totally clean. It gets where it was going. It makes its key points along the way. And their young lives are set up for their (separate) futures. A coming-of-age story, IOW.
