You can tell the AI changed her face though. And that’s the secret, it’s not really “enhancing” so much than it is “replacing”
It gave her areolas Saturn-like rings of fading pink. 4 distinct shades there, including the nip, which I guess is the planet. And a few inches above is a small tat or random unwashed splotch of paint that would be a satellite of some sort, caught in the orbit. Her boobs were great, but probably not as cosmic as they appear here.
There’s been a 4k remaster (from 2022) which is where this frame was sourced from, so I think your memory might be a bit faulty, I agree the AI has added tone & depth to the colorization, but if you look at the original B&W image it is the same.
This wasn’t a technicolor job or just adding hues in and calling it a day. Even thought it was shot originally in 35MM the picture was dark and washed out. As I can’t find a version online of the Criterion 4k upscale, I can’t say for sure how it matches this picture, I just know from looking at older non-HD sources, the composition is the same, it’s just the clarity and sharpness of the image that differs.
Disagree. The original seems to show possibly some puffiness. This version here when zoomed in makes it entirely flat and way too smooth. It’s typical AI fakery. If you were standing in front of her looking at her nipple during filming, and held this pic up next to it, it would be laughably obvious. Granted, the AI has to guess at the shade, since it was filmed in B&W. But texturewise, and generally, it’s more like a painting of a nipple. As another commenter mentioned, her face doesn’t look quite right either.

The headline on that clip is not correct. She posed for naked drawings, not photographs, and then again for the scene in the movie.
Francesco Clemente is not a photographer. He’s an artist. And he’s not a photorealistic painter, so it’s arty stuff rather than sexy stuff. (Not that they are mutually exclusive.)
It’s stuff like this:
There is a scene in the movie where Ethan Hawke draws/paints nudes of Gwyneth, and we see those images. Those drawings had to exist before the scene could be filmed, which meant that Gwyneth had to go to Francesco’s studio to pose for them in advance. The other posing she’s talking about was when she got nude for that scene in the film itself. At no time did she pose for still photos.
Gwyneth was nude in the scene, or at least supposed to be within the internal logic of it, but the camera never quite fully shows it. That’s a shame. She was a very nice looking woman, and still is today (even if somewhat nuts, unfortunately). She has given us some on-screen nudity here and there in her career though. And there are there full-frontal paparazzi shots as well, with her lovely natural bush.
You kinda forget how sweet she was in interviews in the 90s, she got a very haughty attitude once she got with the Coldplay douche, then after they split, became a laughingstock with that “conscious uncoupling” jive & all the Goop horseshit
She had no problem romping around in her birthday suit with Pitt on a rooftop for the world to see – including an asshole-wide-open bend-over, squeezing her tit, and the ol’ reliable ‘pretending to be a nude zombie’ shtick, which must’ve thrilled Pitt as much as his ‘hiding his dick between his legs’ dance must’ve excited her – so I dunno why doffing her duds for one dude in a studio would make her shy.

You don’t need AI, per se, to do this. I could do it right now in Photoshop with one filter, which admittedly might be using AI in the background. But I’d argue that that’s not what people are thinking when you say “AI”.
But it does look great.
That was/is a magnificently beautiful woman, with or without clothes.
