The full-size image shows Ariana petting a dog that’s wearing a harness clearly marked “Do Not Pet,” and the very next image in the series is a close-up of the “Do Not Pet” sign. This seems like a weird thing to post, kinda smacking of entitlement, and setting a bad example for her young followers (she has 362 million followers on IG, more than the entire population of the USA).

Does she also post images of her walking on the grass next to a “keep off the grass” sign? Does she also park in “no parking” areas”? Does she also go on amusement park rides where she’s not tall enough?

Faithless has a lot in common with the great masterpiece, Roshomon. It tells the story of a cheating wife from three different perspectives: his, his and hers. It is a serious, ambitious film that uses the retelling of the story to show us far more about the narrators than the actual events they recount.

The auteur bit off more than he could chew, but since he aspired to be Kurosawa, you can’t fault him for lacking ambition. When I reviewed this film in 1999, I was not enthusiastic about it, but I felt that its young director, Raul Inglis, had potential.

I wrote:

I’d say that this director (Raul Sanchez Inglis) is going to make good movies. If he loses some of the artiness and self-importance, he may make brilliant movies, which is what happened to Atom Egoyan when he learned that substance and human emotions were as important as, or more important than, style and structure.

I concluded:

I have a Labrador Retriever who will lick anything that smells of food. I also have a greyhound-type mutt who will ignore anything without substance. If this film were food, my lab would like it, the greyhound would not, because this film isn’t real food, just the scent of food. That’s not all bad, because that scent is the aroma of talent.

I guess I was wrong. Inglis is now about 60 years old, and those good movies have never arrived.

Mr. Inglis did manage a unique feat. He did get Nicole Oliver to strip frequently in this film, and no other director has ever persuaded her to do any nudity.

I don’t know much about her, but her IMDb page suggests that she is one of the most sought-after voice actors in North America.

I know I have this DVD somewhere, but I can’t find it. I couldn’t find the film anywhere on the ‘net. Does anyone have the videos?

Interesting story:

Inspired by a best selling true story by Sharon Yitzhaki. Sharon went to Bolivia with a young guy she barely knew. She was framed and accused of smuggling 10 kilos of cocaine across the border. They threw her into Bolivia’s most atrocious women’s prison. News stations picked up the story and Sharon soon became the most “famous” woman convicted in the country. She carried on a tempestuous love affair with the head of the Bolivian drug cartel who was in the adjacent men’s jail. With this connection she became the biggest drug dealer in the prison. Sharon’s gathered around her a ‘family’, adopting a seven-year-old orphan girl and bonding with a beautiful transgender. She got addicted to cocaine but recovered so she could look after her ‘family’. A lucky break came when the Pope declared a “Holy Year of Mercy” for the millennium, and Sharon used a loophole in the law to escape with her ‘family’ to New York. This happened before her 26th birthday… and it’s all true.

The movie is also known as Mira Flores, after the prison where she was incarcerated.

The countries of origin are Israel, Guatemala and the United States. I assume that Guatemala plays the part of Bolivia, but I have not seen the film. I had never even heard of it until I saw Zorg’s video today.

She was popular in the late 70s and early 80s, but hasn’t been seen on screen in about 30 years.

She is still alive, living in Tucson, as far as I know, although her Facebook page has not been updated since 2020. She published a Christian children’s book that same year.
