Screen Daily says, “It’s a film that requires considerable investment from the audience, and one that rations its rewards even to those who fully commit to the experience.” Wikipedia says the film was released in German cinemas on 4 May 2023. I presume it closed later that same day.

OK, maybe I’m being unkind. It’s obviously not a summer blockbuster, but the film won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival. That’s a significant award.
