Actually no they weren’t invited and escorted out of the building shortly after this.
I have read this as well, but both halves turned out to be false.
1. Ye was an invited guest to the award show because of his nomination in the best rap song category for “Carnival.” (Dual nomination as writer and performer.) It was probably reasonable to assume Kanye would not be there. He has not attended since 2015, but as a nominee, he was automatically eligible to be there.
2. According to a source who spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, the couple actually left on their own accord and were not told to leave.
Variety corroborated that report. Instead, they write, West just “walked the carpet, got in his car and left.”
It’s sad you know all that. Celebrity worship is unreal.
I don’t know exactly what happened, but whatever it was it apparently has caused enough controversy for Kanye to have lost a $20 million concert deal in Japan.
He was a nominee.
That’s crazy. But then, I saw Chris Brown won an award, so I guess the Grammy’s just don’t care.
I think Simpsons said it best and sorry Simps fans, I don’t remember this one verbatim but they said something like “We do not consider the Grammy to be a second-class award. We do not consider it an award at all.”
