WTF? Only Michelle Obama emerges as a truly strong alternative to Biden

I have to admit that I had no idea how popular she is. Trump has at least a slight edge over all the other Democratic alternatives, but this poll shows him losing to Ms. Obama in landslide territory (11 points).

That’s pretty amazing when you consider that: (1) voters really have no idea where she stands on the issues (with a few exceptions); (2) she has consistently insisted that she has no interest in politics.

Come to think of it, maybe point (2) is the very reason people like her. Many people say that the greatest weakness of our system is that anyone who would want to be President should not be.

Answer: the going-round becomes somewhat less merry.

They are mighty lucky that the plate securing the engine ripped off in that particular direction, into an open field. If it had headed toward their flimsy bunker, there could have been fatal consequences. In another direction, they might have destroyed an expensive excavator.

And then there was the massive engine itself, which rolled off harmlessly. Things could have been so much worse.
