Fun fact: Jaime Pressly was nude in both Poison Ivy 2 and Poison Ivy 3. It had long been rumored that she was Drew Barrymore’s body double in the first Poison Ivy, which never made sense since she was two years younger than Drew and the only reason Drew needed a double was due to her being underage. Here’s what Jaime said in an interview in Playboy:
“She finds a diary and pictures of Drew’s character in a closet. The pictures are supposed to be of Drew, but they’re of me, though you never see my face. When Alyssa reads Ivy’s diary – Drew’s diary – she imagines her, but instead of Ivy being Drew, she’s me. People say I body-doubled her and it was my boobs and my ass in the movie instead of hers, but that isn’t the case. I haven’t had a body double myself, but I’m not opposed to it,”
Way back when, I worked with someone who had a brief stint of trying to make it Hollywood, but they never got very far. But one gig they almost got was to be Drew’s body double in Poison Ivy– they were one of the final three girls for the gig. To narrow it down, all three were in the room together for producers to decide. While that was happening, Drew (who was a freshly-sober teenager and still very much in her 90s Brat phase that she grew out of) burst into the room and screamed to send these girls home, she didn’t need a body double, she would do it herself, and the producers were all, “No, Drew, you actually can’t, it’s not legal, so please let us get this done.”
My coworker did not get that job, and she was glad she didn’t.
Yeah, I remember reading an interview with Drew around that time where she criticized the body double’s breasts and saying hers was better. That scene wasn’t actually very revealing. I guess they needed a body double since Tom Skeritt was gonna grope her character. Drew also posed nude around the same time.
