Besides, I like Ali. I’ve been sayin’ for 20 years that she’s underrated and miscast, and now that she’s totally nailing this over-the-top role in a major show from Taylor Fuckin’ Sheridan his ownself, I’m showin’ her some love.
If anyone ever decides to make a proper version of Semi-Tough, to cleanse the palate from that dumb Burt Reynolds version, Ali would be the perfect Barbara Jane Bookman. She’s already playing that character!
That’ll never happen. The world has changed, and no filmmaker (that I know of) has the balls to do it. It would be considered racist, homophobic and misogynist. Oh, yeah, it was based on the way athletes of that time really thought and talked, but to paraphrase Jack Nicholson’s famous line, “We can’t handle the truth.”

She looks incredible. so what if she had her tits enhanced. They look great on her. The rest of the body is made in the gym and hard core discipline.
Landman is such a weird show. The acting is great, and all the actors seem like they are having a great time doing it. But it often feels like it’s pretending to be a prestige drama, when what it really wants to be is a wacky sitcom about three dudes who live in a house together, and then the one guy’s sexy daughter and ex-wife move in, so hijinx ensue.
I think you have to view it as an entertainment show, not a drama. I wouldn’t call it wacky, but it can be funny. The characters are exaggerated to make them more fun, larger-than-life.
That said, Demi Moore seems to be acting in a completely different show. While everyone else seems to be in Semi-Tough II, she seems to think she’s in Long Day’s Journey Into Night.
People forget Dallas was a hugely popular show 45 yrs ago, & a lot of people watched it & Dynasty because of the ridiculous soapy over the topness, at least this seems to be aware of that, the other Sheridan shows like 1923 are ponderous & boring (despite Game of Thrones level naked whores)
Weird, I find Ali Larter hotter now than I did when she was 20+ years younger in Not Another Teen Movie.

Either way, I agree. I think she’s hotter now. I think some of it is looks, and some is that she’s more comfortable on screen.
