Paris, in the late 1960s. Madame Claude is the head of a flourishing business, but the end of her empire is closer than she thinks.
“Madame Claude” was the pseudonym of Fernande Grudet, who ran a high-end prostitution ring in Paris during the 1960s and 70s. She became known for providing call girls to wealthy and prominent clients, including figures in politics, business, and the arts. Many considered her more of a matchmaker than a madame because she brought elegant, beautiful women in contact with rich and powerful men. Because her powerful clients respected her discretion and exclusivity, she established valuable connections and wielded considerable influence.
You may remember that the infamous Just Jaeckin made an earlier version of this story as his next project after Emmanuelle and The Story of O. The Canadian actress Dayle Haddon played one of the leads in that film, which was also titled Madame Claude.
