Mr. Skin says it is a body double. I can’t confirm or deny that, but she has always avoided nudity, so his assertion seems logical.

From my mailbox: She’s making underwear now. And making videos on Insta shilling them. While wearing them. I think it was a little chilly in her house that day. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Millie Bobby Brown (@milliebobbybrown) Scoop’s note: she also posts bikini shots on…

Mr Skin always assumes body double until they found out it isn’t and they have been wrong on many occasions. Still, no reason to assume it is her until there is some evidence otherwise.
Their business model biases them to evade retracting their calls. Honesty buys them almost nothing while admitting fault tarnishes their image.
Example: Briana Brown’s nude debut was one episode earlier than generally cited. Same show, Homeland. The widespread conclusion only a few days before was Don’t See Face = BD. The clearer face & tits scene in the following episode essentially mooted the wrong conclusion. So no one bothered to go back & review the footage in slow motion. Guess what? Albeit briefly, you can see her face when her tits come into frame.
Because “it doesn’t matter now,” making the right call on the balls & strikes is unimportant. Their need to bury their mistakes is thus rationalized.
One note: if it’s a body double, why is one nipple covered by a patch? If you’re being hired for nudity, shot-ruining modesty patches don’t make much sense.
But if you’re a shy actress, only revealing exactly what you have to? That follows.
Cynical me see, “She’s only showing what she was paid to show.” Which is good support for asserting it’s Chlumsky, but with as much as has changed in Hollywood, I’m not positive that a body double couldn’t get away with the same thing if they had a good lawyer reviewing their contract. So, ?
Meh, in general, if you’re working as a body double your body is what you’re marketing. Not your acting ability, not even your facial beauty. ALL you have to offer is what’s below the neck. Be it for nudity, stand-in work, etc.
I can’t see any production soft shoeing around a one-shot double. Just pay the lady and get the shot, you know?
Modesty patches over genitals are standard. Not for modesty, but to avoid censorship and potential issues in close quarters with other actors. Even when you’re doing a close up, the trick is to make them look naked without being naked. But nipples? That’s a nudity clause deal.
Seconded. Just an opinion, but I agree.
Did a bit of quick detective work.
I never noticed, but Chlumsky has a ton of freckles. Including her shoulders.
Just like the topless image.
So either they worked overtime to find a matching body double, or that’s her.
That also looks like her short, plump arms.
As you say, if it is a double, they matched her flawlessly.
I see people like Anna Chlumsky & Abigail Breslin as dark horses, or if you will, underdogs. I always want them to grow up to become hot & sexy. As sexual boldness has become more widespread so that we are now seeing the likes of Nicola Coughlan & Sasha Pieterse get naked, it seems my dark horses now have almost decent odds to happen.
That said, it also seems this scene was deliberately set up to leave us guessing. Unfortunately, that’s where we’re at. Unless there’s further developments in our evidence, we’re shopping at Inconclusive R Us.
Abby has body issues. Long and open issues with eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder.
I think she’d do it for the right part, but despite her talent and being beautiful she has a hard time getting roles because, oh no, she isn’t stick thin. So the right part isn’t coming, and she’s never going to subject herself to the scrutiny just to cash in on a low quality role.
Granted, your mindreading has a smidge better basis than the typical rumor mill fodder. Still, I feel it isn’t my place to second-guess an actor’s career choices.
I’ve been a journalist in entertainment for a very long time. I’m no longer working for anyone, but I still pay attention to the industry, follow performers I like (Abby Breslin is a fave) and just generally stick to old habits that die hard.
So I’ve got a little more insight into the entertainment world than many, you could say, but it isn’t like I’m hanging out with Dicaprio on the Hollywood Strip or anything. In horror, I was a z-grade internet celebrity. Outside of horror, a total nobody.
