I had an aunt who drove out of DC on the 14th Street Bridge about an hour before the crash.
I was tromping through the snow on the Mall on my way back to my Capitol Hill apt from the Treasury- the Metro being shut down on account of a train crash and Federal workers being sent home on account of the snow- when rumors started going around about a plane landing on the Bridge. Badly eventful day.
I watched it live on TV. Snow day in Missouri, I think. Harrowing, watching them try to pull people out of the ice.
