I don’t know if I would call these two guys “rock gods,” but their background is entertaining:
Black metal band Darkthrone consists of Fenriz, who works for the post office, and NocturnoCulto, who works as a school teacher.
I wonder if the kids call him Mr. Culto.
Some of these are really former stars who moved on to other careers. (I guess Vanilla Ice was a star for a minute or two.)

Hmm… surprised they didn’t include Brian May. They almost always include Brian May in these things.
Although maybe astrophysicist isn’t a normal career.
Or maybe he’s not considered a rock god. Like Vanilla Ice.
Not sure he’s a career astrophysicist…just got a PhD in it,
He’s worked on several high profile projects. He’s highly respected in the field.
Missing my fave, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, From fabulous guitar with Steely Dan through Pretzel Logic to defense consulting. Some really interesting stuff on You Tube.
Vanilla Ice is a star? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He appears on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so yah, he’s kind of a big deal. 🙂

Bruce Dickenson still tours regularly with Maiden. Piloting is more of a side hustle for him.
Not sure if Chris DeGarmo of Queensryche could be considered to be a rock god but he did retire from music to become a full time pilot. Danny Spitz of Anthrax also retired from music and became a watch maker.
Came here to say this. The pilot stuff happened when he was out of the Irons. Since he’s been back, that’s been his focus. Despite one member retiring, another openly rumored to be on the way out, and multiple others rumored to at least wanting an end to tours, he and Steve just keep going. Bruce even did extensive touring for his solo project last year.
What he DOES do is fly the band between gigs. They own a massive liner (747, I want to say) heavily customized to carry much of their gear and the entire band, which cuts the cost of touring since it all belongs to Bruce and he does the flying, even internationally.
And Spitz is one of the most respected Swiss watch makers in the world right now. Family business, multiple generations.
Darkthrone are nobodies in the greater world, but to black metal they’re Black Sabbath. Foundational legends in the field along with the infamous Mayhem. Given all their silly stage personas, I’d imagine this is a common thing.
My former singer is in a band called Frost Like Ashes, and goes by Azahel. Wears the “corpse paint” and all that.
He’s a tech guy at an auto dealer in North Dakota named Nyk.
