This busty babe is a real life PhD neuroscientist who has become viral on TikTok (750K subs) by giving mental health advice.
Allegedly.
The nudes and the advice videos certainly look like the same woman. Could be, I guess. I assume getting naked pays much better than neuroscience.
(That’s not a great reflection on the reality of human existence.)
The woman he is talking about used to post on TikTok as neuroscientist Rachelle Summers. That account is now empty, but it’s difficult if not impossible to scour all traces on the internet. There was a bot that used to forward her posts to Twitter, where the entries still exist under that name. She is now posting on TikTok as Dr. Rachel Barr, although her descriptor says she is just a PhD candidate. (Perhaps she has now earned her degree and failed to update the description.)
Well, she did post something explaining the name change. She’s claiming her actual name is Rachel Barr, and Rachel Summers was just something she made up in the early days of social media.
Rachel Barr holds a master’s degree in molecular neuroscience and wrote How to Make Your Brain Your Best Friend while completing her PhD in the electrophysiology of memory and sleep.
Beyond the lab, her videos as ‘Rachel the Neuroscientist’ demystify the fundamental principles of brain science, empowering her million-plus followers to make informed decisions about their mental health.
Born and raised in Fife, she studied in Bristol and is now based in Quebec, where she shares her home — and keyboard — with Gnocchi the cat.
I’m good with everything she does except using the Dr title before she gets her degree.
Her videos seem sensible enough.
Per this article she says porn is bad for you….
We can see that those nudes in the link are the same woman, which allows only two conclusions:
Either
(a) She doesn’t think her material is porn.
or
(b) She wants to hurt her viewers.
If (a), she is very delusional. Pornography is defined as “printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic feelings.”
If (b), she’s just a bad person.
I wonder if they’re fake. I know it’s silly, but the pics look too much like her. Unless she was actively doing these recently.
I think you left out another conclusion. She’s just a bullshit artist. Those kinds of topics are pure clickbait and have no real value. A legit scientist wouldn’t even get involved never mind talk with garbage media outlets.
If you’re talking about a pure bullshit artist like Dr. Phil, yes.
But you’re probably too cynical in this case.
Her thing is more technical than psychological. She does things like studying the brain’s activity during different activities and at different stages of development. She probably spends most of her time studying EEGs and similar tests.
Many scientists don’t talk to the media because they aren’t skillful at it. They are used to dry recitations of facts and theories, and boring things like the probability of certainty. Telling the unspun truth, while offering all the caveats about the limitations of certainty, either puts people to sleep or gets them hot under the collar when the implications contradict their assumptions. Frankly, I’m always thrilled when the rare scientist is capable of expressing the wonders of science in terms that are both accurate and inspiring. Thank heaven for the occasional Carl Sagan who can entertain and move us. Who knows, maybe this woman is the Carl Sagan of the nervous system.
It’s not clear to me if she is still doing “porn” or all those x-rated shots are old and she is retired from that. If she is not doing that any more, she could claim that learned how bad porn is from doing it for a time and that is why is she stopped getting naked on social media.
