I worked in and around the entertainment industry and even I don’t understand this.
How do they cast these parts?
“Hey, we need a middle aged woman to show her tits then die. Send us someone.”
And, like, they have a spreadsheet? “Middle aged…female…will do nudity…bingo!”
Honestly, yeah, that’s pretty close. They will put out a casting call that clearly says “nudity required”, sometimes a brief description of the scene. Recapped used to post these sometimes, I’ve seen ones for Boardwalk Empire and 3 Body Problem specifically. 3 Body was literally calling for “asian people with natural pubic hair” for one scene.
That 3 Body Problem casting call is one I strongly endorse!
And now she has a hit television show on her CV.

I also thought that she looked pretty good, and she is indeed well proportioned. Albeit that scene, with her in a hospital and in distress, is not meant to showcase attractiveness at all. Many of us have personally been fully exposed in the hospital setting and it is anything but sexy. (I have a funny story about that, with a hilarious comment made by an attractive young nurse at a time when I was fully exposed. It made me laugh and put me at ease in a difficult situation. Bless her.)
Anyway the whole point of that particular scene in The Pitt was to underscore how prudery has no place in a hospital environment, as it can impede care and put patients at risk. It was a good point to make, and an excellent episode of the show.
To be clear about the point, the paramedics had placed the probes for an EKG (heart monitor) so as to avoid the lady’s tits. They should’ve lifted her boobs to put them in the right spot. The readings that resulted were bad, and led to a missed diagnosis.
As Dr. Robby says, after chewing out the technicians who failed to place the probes in the right position in order to avoid the woman’s breasts, ‘Would you prefer death with modesty or life with brief nudity’?
