Cold war espionage thriller; Peacock original series
Two secretaries at the American embassy in 1970s Moscow become CIA operatives after their husbands are killed, uncovering a Cold War conspiracy behind the tragedy.
The Khaleesi’s Russian was reasonably convincing, although she has a Dothraki accent.
Joking aside, Emilia does not speak Russian, but she learned her lines phonetically, using a dialogue coach. The role required her to learn to say the words with a specific Muscovite accent. I don’t think she could fool a native speaker, but everything was completely clear and understandable.
