Random question: do you know about any other films where the entire female cast appear naked like in Sirens?

By film, I mean regular movies with regular actresses (like Tara or Portia), not “erotic movies” with bimbos whose only talent is taking their clothes off.

The only one that comes to mind immediately where that is completely accurate is Inserts (1975). Jessica Harper and Veronica Cartwright are the only two women in the cast, and they both got naked, although Cartwright was the only one to do full-frontal nudity.

The Blue Lagoon is a tricky one. There is only one female character, but it was played by three different people (Brooke Shields, Kathy Troutt and a little girl playing the character at a younger age). It is fair to say that the only female character got naked (or at least topless) but it was not Brooke. It was Kathy Troutt, her body double.

In Utopia, every woman got naked except Charlotte Vega (darn it!), and that was quite a few women.

In Steaming, I think every woman got naked except Diana Dors.

Cindy, who is most famous as Shirley from “Laverne and Shirley,” never got naked on camera.

This Curtis Harrington film is the closest she came, which was not very close.

The real nudity in the film was provided by an actress named Susan Bernard, who was raped in a cold open, before the title and credit sequence. The director obviously didn’t believe in easing the audience into the film.

Entertaining scene. Hard to believe it was 30 years ago.

1995 was quite a year for Alyssa Milano. She placed two entries in our annual vote for the nude scene of the year, including the overall winner (Embrace of the Vampire). This scene tied for 11th.¹

This is a cute romantic comedy from Spain about a stand-up comic who falls in love with an actor/author in experimental theater. It follows the usual formula of “they love each other – they hate each other – they love each other,” but what makes it clever is that the hate portion of the relationship is acted out while they are on stage together. And they are playing themselves in a play she wrote about their relationship! They try to sabotage each other as much as possible, which ruined the drama, in theory, but ruining the drama actually improved the play. The audience reacted like the audience for Springtime for Hitler – they found the play to be a hilarious comedy, and were really impressed with how realistic the acting was!

Michelle Jenner is the female lead, and she is really a great find, a lovely woman with a great gift for exuberant comedy, ala Meg Ryan. Unfortunately she remains well covered in all the romantic moments, so Maria Hinojosa, as the “other woman,” had to take up the slack. (Not that it’s a bad thing. Maria is gorgeous.)

After her elderly mother’s strange death, a woman returns to Naples for the funeral and stays to investigate her mother’s final days, confronting family memories in the process.
