This is a new Spanish film, directed by 11-time Goya nominee, David Trueba. In 2014, Trueba won two Goyas – as the best director as well as the author of the best original screenplay. You may think that’s a lot of Goya nominations, but David is not even the leader in his family. His brother Fernando has been nominated for 12, winning four, two for direction and two for writing.
The pitch for this film:
Vera, Juan and their daughter Manuela travel to Mallorca to spend a few days in an idyllic house facing the sea owned by Alonso, Juan’s former co-worker who, after losing his partner, decided to retire from the world.
