Charlotte co-wrote and starred in this Brit crime actioner ala Guy Ritchie.

Follows a tough, working-class, petty criminal who morphs into an anti-heroine to be reckoned with in a murky underworld, in the treacherous world of diamond smuggling.

The reviews were pretty cruel.

If you’ve ever wondered what a remake of Pretty Woman written and directed by Guy Ritchie would look like, then Duchess (2024) is the film for you.

It doesn’t help that the plotting and tone of “Duchess” are so exaggeratedly stupid that the whole thing plays almost like a parody of Ritchie instead of an homage

The nudity is insufficient to lift the film into the “guilty pleasure” category. In fact, if you watch the film in real time, you probably won’t be aware of any nudity at all, but the ol’ pause button reveals a few frames with some slight exposure.

This is a new Spanish film, directed by 11-time Goya nominee, David Trueba. In 2014, Trueba won two Goyas – as the best director as well as the author of the best original screenplay. You may think that’s a lot of Goya nominations, but David is not even the leader in his family. His brother Fernando has been nominated for 12, winning four, two for direction and two for writing.

The pitch for this film:

Vera, Juan and their daughter Manuela travel to Mallorca to spend a few days in an idyllic house facing the sea owned by Alonso, Juan’s former co-worker who, after losing his partner, decided to retire from the world.

Bryson DeChambeau and Former President Trump try to break 50

This is part of a series that Bryson produces in which he and a two-man scramble partner try to break 50 from the red tees.

Trump and Bryson didn’t succeed, but they came as close as you can get, shooting exactly 50 – 22 under par. Whatever you think about Trump, you can’t deny that the man can play golf. I have not seen anyone else his age play that well. He looks ancient, he’s way overweight, and there are moments when he barely seems able to catch his breath, but he comes to life and does the job when he has a club in his hands.

Bryson has amazing power. At one point, he drives a short par four with a five wood, getting the ball 27 feet from the cup. And that was into a breeze.
