Another 90s French movie, this time the 1994 comedy/drama Le Sourire (The Smile) about a dying man who spots a young beauty and attempts to bed her. The beauty has her own issues, concerning a nose bleed when she becomes stressed. She also becomes interested in a travelling strip show and wants to join, so the dying man helps her out with this. This is a bizarre fantasy movie that turned up a bit on late 90s cable. I haven’t seen it since then, but is still as wild as I remember it. Plenty of nudity and a completely ridiculous plot that’s very French.

Twisted Metal is an American post-apocalyptic action comedy television series based on the video game franchise.

In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, John Doe, a talkative milkman with amnesia, is given a mission to traverse the desolate United States to deliver a mysterious package with unknown contents. He faces a life-altering opportunity but must confront ruthless marauders in deadly and destructive vehicles to secure a chance at a better future.

This is the first episode I’ve watched. It’s chaotic and insane – and silly. Imagine the Mad Max movies as high camp comedies. Beatriz and Anthony Mackie are caught in a fire while having sex. They have to flee naked. Unfortunately for us, only Mackie provides some true nudity.

This dramedy series ran seven seasons in the U.K., starting in 2007. Nicholas Hoult was the break-out star.

The story of a group of British teens who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness despite questionable parenting and teachers who would rather be friends (and lovers) than authority figures.

Naomi Allisstone’s career has consisted of short character arcs in episodic UK telly. I don’t know of any other nude scenes.

This is where is usually give a brief description of the film, but in this case I think you already have the idea that it’s not a sensitive interpretation of a Jane Austen masterpiece.

It’s rated 2.4 at IMDb, lower than Gigli, Battlefield Earth and Cats.

It’s more 90s with another French movie, the 1991 postmodern comedy/drama Merci la Vie, an incredibly odd movie about two lonely women Camille (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and Joëlle (Anouk Grinberg) who meet and decide to become friends and end up having little adventures together that begin with just picking up men. Once Joëlle is ‘discovered’ and becomes an actress, the adventures get darker and more surreal. Absolutely baffling stuff, chock full of big name French stars in cameos and a plot so impenetrable it’s impossible to describe. The movie gets so dark that it concludes with a horrifying Nazi death train plot which I have no idea how it even got there. Definitely unique.
