Not only did we get two close games today, but the outcome was what most people would have preferred.
#1 Duke’s luck finally ran out after two narrow victories, as they suffered a one-point loss.
And plucky Auburn pulled off an OT win against #2 Kentucky. Like Texas Tech, Auburn has never made it to the big show before.
Virginia is the only one-seed left in the hunt.
Two close ones in the NCAA

Gonzaga (an imaginary place, per Jimmy Kimmel), seeded #1, suffered a very real loss to … Texas Tech. Texas Tech? Who knew? Meanwhile, #1 Virginia barely survived in overtime against Purdue.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders, making their first trip to the Final Four, have been steadily improving throughout the season. Early in the year, they dropped a game to Baylor by 11, but they won the rematch going away (by 25). Then they avenged a 16-point loss to Kansas by absolutely crushing them in the rematch, 91-62. In the previous round of this tournament, their vaunted defense held second-seeded Michigan to 16 points in the first half!
