This was another one of the Phoebe Cates / Katie Holmes moments when somebody who grew up in front of our eyes suddenly got topless. This finished #4 among the top nude scenes of 1995. It had some stiff competition. Molly was a hot ticket at the time, but Alyssa Milano was even hotter, kind of the Sydney Sweeney of her time. Milano not only finished first, but 11th as well! And then there was Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls and Mimi Rogers in Full Body Massage. That’s four all-time classics in one year, with many other great scenes farther down the list.
Had to love the 90s.

People had heard of Phoebe Cates before Fast Times?
Wasn’t she on the cover of pretty much every issue of Seventeen?
That was an important time in my young life and I’d have to say no one I knew had heard of Phoebe Cates until Fast Times. She may have been modeling, but in those days very few of us heard about models outside of Christie Brinkley. Those like Lauren Hutton were known from movies.
Later on, I found out that she had probably performed the song Paradise earlier but none of us knew it. The only time I had heard that song was actually in a performance on a special prime time episode of Benny Hill they showed in the US done by the lovely Louise English.
Too bad it was her one and done. I had never suspected her of having such a sumptuous chest. Sometimes it’s good to be wrong.
Totally off top, but who would have suspected on this date the 10-20 Astros would be entertaining the 20-10 Guardians? If Kwan and Naylor don’t get some All-Star love this year, it will be criminal.
