The name sounds familiar, doesn’t it? In her screen debut, some 56 years ago, she had the unenviable challenge of replacing Mrs. Peel on The Avengers, which kind of made her the “Shemp” of the series.1 She’s still acting today, at age 77. She just appeared in a recent episode of Father Brown. In between, she did a zillion different shows and was once Frank Sinatra’s girlfriend.
She was nearly topless at age 28 in a UK comedy series, then did topless scenes at approximately ages 29 and 56.

Footnote #1. I once attended an all-night Three Stooges Festival, and the crowd (presumably stoned) went wild with boos whenever Shemp’s face appeared in the opening sequence. The organizers learned their lesson. A few years later, I saw an ad for another Stooges-fest, and the ad specifically boasted “All Curly! No Shemp!”
I hope they don’t boo Linda at Avengers Festivals, assuming such things exist.
But if I ever attend one, it better be all Mrs. Peel.
