This is a new mini-series from Apple TV+ which was written and directed by the famed auteur Alfonso Cuaron, based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Renée Knight. It features a big-time cast headed by Cate Blanchett, with Kevin Kline and Borat in major roles. Leila plays Cate Blanchett’s role as a younger woman.
A famed documentary journalist discovers she is a prominent character in a novel that reveals a secret she has tried to keep hidden. The story is revealed in a non-linear fashion.
It looks like a good guilty pleasure show, but I haven’t had time to watch it yet.
Speaking of Borat, I can quote him as my response to this scene: “Wa-wa-wee-wa!”
There is more of the same in episode 4 – plus film clips from both episodes.

I’m so glad that Apple+ have moved away from their early “we won’t do nudity in our exclusive shows” policy.
They moved FAR away. The Leila George scenes are about a ten-degree camera angle away from porn.
It would have been perfect if she had played the part in Apple TV’s Presumed Innocent that her mom played in the movie adaptation. It would’ve been a gimmick, but George feels much more like a temptress than Renate Reinsve.
Huh. I remember earlier this year, someone saying Apple TV had decided to never create original programming with nudity or sex scenes. Was this greenlit before such a moratorium was handed down, or was that person just making things up?
I don’t know, but I’m glad Apple TV+ came to their senses.
