As president, Trump briefly attempted to get Justice officials to twist campaign finance laws and the federal equal-time rule to declare that anti-Trump material broadcast by Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and others was somehow illegal. During his 2024 campaign, according to a source with direct knowledge, Trump has raised this topic again, venting about the need to punish late-night comedians for giving “illegal” campaign contributions to the Democratic Party — in the form of jokes and on-air satire.
Although jailing late-night hosts seems totally insane, I fully support it if it means we can extradite James Corden back to the States to stand trial. OK, poor Kimmel, Seth and Colbert will be collateral damage, but that’s just the price that we, as a society, must be willing to pay. To Seth, Stephen and the Jimmys – we offer our apologies and thank you for your sacrifice.
Also, we need to lock up Craig Ferguson as an accessory. I love Craig, but the truth is that he let us down. He could have saved us. He could have kept his show, but no-o-o-o-o-o. His quitting created a path that ultimately led … to Carpool Karaoke.

I could get behind this if they made being not at all funny a crime. I wanna see Lewis Black sneak into Canada while David Spade reads up on Venezuelan extradition law.
That could bode tough times for Dane Cook.

I’m British, posting from the UK and I fully support this message.
Joe Rogan’s quaking in his little size 3 cowboy boots.
Maybe I’m a snob, but stool-fucking on stage is not comedy to me. And Joe Rogan is not a comedian at all. He’s a hack.
