New Russian dramedy series. Cyrillic: Разочарованные (Disappointment)
Fate brings Vera, Nadezhda and Lyubov together at a party. This chance meeting will be the beginning of a friendship that will force them to look at their lives from a new, unknown side.
There’s wordplay in Russian that doesn’t work in English unless you translate their names. You see, they were destined to become a threesome since their names together mean “Faith, Hope and Love,” the three foundational principles of Christianity, per Paul’s first epistle to the Corinthians.
Not that I’ve read Paul’s letters. I can’t even keep up with my e-mail. I saw it years ago on an inspirational sign at Bed, Bath and Beyond. (It was in the “Beyond” section.)
