Bare Film Scenes Are Taboo For Barbara…Well, Almost
By DAN LEWIS
HOLLYWOOD — Barbara Rhoades’s attitude towards nudity in films is unique.
“I don’t mind standing nude In front of people,” said the tall, gorgeous, drool-causing young actress. “But I don’t want pictures shown of me in the nude.” She made an exception, however, for her latest film, “There Was a Crooked Man.” Her clothes are torn off in a riot scene and she races across the desert in her birthday suit.
“They never asked me beforehand, and the script didn’t exactly detail the scene that explicitly,” Barbara explained. She didn’t know, she contended, just how bare she would be until the day the scene was shot. “So I had to go through with it then,” she said. PLAYBOY wanted her to do one of its photo layouts as a result of the scene, but she ruled it out. “I don’t believe that nudity is a form of art. That’s a lot of garbage,” Barbara said assertively. “They use nudity simply to sell pictures and magazines, for no other reason.”
We do have one beautiful, high-res still photograph from the deleted scene
And I’ve run into a couple of low quality stills

Found the movie online will see if the scene survived the cut.
Bet a great deal of nudity when the Hays Code died off came about by “surprising” the struggling actresses on the day of like this – was she fearful of full nudity because she seems to have had one of those early “bowl” boob jobs? She needn’t have worried, bts photogs seemed like the real ones you needed to watch out for
