Eastern Europe seems be like Hollywood in the 80s naked lady-wise
I think that is a strong parallel. I can’t speak to the rest of Eastern Europe, but Russia is rarely influenced by any modern Western attitudes and values. Gays are ostracized and condemned. Women are objectified. Male nudity is unwelcome. Of course not all Russians feel that way, but in general they have a macho society, and their state supports those attitudes. Perhaps the attitudes are not so much like the 80s as they are like the 50s, except with nudity.
