So what use should a future President make of it?
I don’t think future presidents have to think of it as anything but a building. I don’t think it should be a homeless shelter, but I can see a future Democrat turning it into a public museum of some kind. I would love to see it as part of “the people’s house” in some way, rather than as something only accessible to elites. The building should serve some democratic purpose, and not just be a place where sheiks mingle with billionaires and Washington insiders twice a year. (Although it can do that as well.)
Before we think about other uses, one thing that would give me great pleasure is if the first official use is to host the inaugural ball for Jon Ossoff (or whomever) in the Congressionally-named Barack Obama Ballroom.
Ya… patience is the only path going forward. How a future bloated over-regulatory government with a socialistic agenda funded by the US taxpayer; will give us lower prices at the gas pump is beyond me. Oh, and the Californication of the Texas oil refinery industry, of course. All this just to impeach our beloved Loose Cannon. It’s only two more years until the real elections.
