Ya gotta love police-speak. Yeah, there’s nothing suspicious about a 36-year-old woman passing away. Good work, Lou!
(I suppose that statement actually means that they don’t believe any crimes were committed against her.)

Anyone who, like me, watched the first season of Heroes and remembers how compelling “Save the cheerleader, save the world” was from week to week has to be feeling particularly miserable this morning.
That series turned out to be a lot of promise that went nowhere, and now the cheerleader is dead at 36. Awful news.
I can only assume the worlds is now doomed.
Unfortunately, she isn’t the first and nor will she be the last young, successful artist to die so young. After all, it’s Hollywood…

I would have thought we had become more comfortable with talking about suicide by now. We even have a national suicide hotline 988, but we are still torn between openness will help others and openness will lead to copycats.
She literally wrote a book about it. Sometimes talking doesn’t help. She had a miserable life for the most part, fame doesn’t equal happiness.
true, I was more addressing the press including obits that don’t like to use the word “suicide” I think I’ve seen once case where the deceased ask, in his suicide note” to put the word in his obit.
I used to see her in the crowd at Vlad Klitschko’s fights. They seemed like an odd couple to me, with his massive size, power, impressive degrees, and foreign languages, and her tiny body & Hollywood personality. He is famously anti-drug, and she was apparently a drug abuser, so I wonder if that caused the split.
Such a shame to go at 36. That ain’t nothin’, and she left a small child behind from her time with Klitschko, although I read the child has been living with him in Ukraine for years.
It isn’t suspicious if someone dies of an OD or kills themself. Suspicious means someone else was involved and usually did the crime. It’s a crime to use drugs, not OD. It’s not a crime to kill oneself. The answer is right in front of you at the scene, thus not suspicious unless something strange pops up. Nut a drug user accidentally ODing, or a depressed person killing themself is not especially strange. Tragic and sad, but not strange.
It isn’t suspicious in cop-speak. That was my original point. They have their own language. But in everyday English, while there is nothing unusual about a 90-year-old passing away, we don’t expect a 36-year-old to die of natural causes, so we suspect that there are other factors. Belushi factors.
That said, she may have died of a genetic heart condition, as her brother did at an even more tender age. There is still no official cause of death.

Weird how now she’s dead she was seemingly everyone’s favourite actress ever, though. But only in Heroes as a sexy cheerleader, never Nashville or Scream or anything else. I doubt people ever noticed that she faded into obscurity for a long time.
I have not seen a toxicology report.
Illegal drugs or prescribed? Has anyone concluded whether the OD was accidental or suicidal?
I understand all of the comments related to her mental health, as it was well documented, but I was curious if maybe her death might have do to with heart complications like her brother. He was only 28 and died from Cardiomegaly(enlarged heart) which can be genetic in nature. Either way is just sad to lose someone so young.
