As you probably know, I don’t push Uncle Scoopy’s Fun House any more, although I keep it active and updated daily. It includes more than a million images and tens of thousands of videos, dating back about 30 years. At this point, between all of my costs for hosting all of my sites, I lose money, so subscriptions are very welcome. There’s a lot of material there!
If you aren’t interested in the Fun House, but enjoy reading Other Crap daily, please consider a donation. Anything helps. I don’t want Other Crap to be weighed down with ads and pop-ups. It is best when it is simple: just celebrity nudity, jokes, and sports. (And now this message.)
How much do you need per month to break even?
It costs about ten grand a year to run all the sites, including hosting, the fees for the domains, and the the VISA and Mastercard annual licenses, or whatever they call those, and the pay site brings in about six grand. There is maybe two grand a year in miscellaneous expenses, like a RapidGator account, an ultra-speed internet connection, a top-of-the-line VPN so I can pretend to be from any country, and an accountant to do the corporate tax returns.
So I guess the answer to you question is that I’m shy about $500 a month for the whole operation. That’s not really an earth-shattering amount, but I’m starting to feel the pinch of it mounting up every month. I enjoy the whole thing, but it has become an expensive hobby.
If your question was specifically considering Other Crap as a solo entity, it costs nine hundred something per year to host it, and it brings in zero, so it costs me maybe eighty bucks a month. It would cost more if I closed the pay site and kept Other Crap because I would still need to have a super-speed internet connection, a VPN, and premium accounts like RapidGator and GoFile, which are absorbed entirely in the pay site for the purpose of the calculations above.
(The horrible secret – without RapidGator Premium, Other Crap would probably not exist!)
I will probably start promoting the pay site actively and (I hope) unobtrusvely (because I don’t want to fuck up Other Crap), but I think that well has probably run dry.

I don’t think so. The Fun House had ads on it before it became a pay site, and the Movie House used to link to Amazon for commissions, but I don’t think Other Crap ever advertised anything. On the other hand, a lot of changes have happened in these past 30 years, so I don’t remember every single thing I ever tried.
That Amazon thing was crazy. The commissions were low, but the partnership was selling a lot of DVDs, so it was working well for me and even better for them, until they decided they didn’t want to pay commissions to adult web sites. The crazy part is that there is no nudity in the Movie House, but I was linking from each review to the appropriate film mentioned in the review.
Since those films contained nudity, my content was less adult than theirs!
It’s a hypocritical world out there.
Turned on a monthly subscription. I don’t really need the daily access to the nudie content, but OC is a daily visit for me and I’ll just consider that cost for this content which I’ve probably been more consistently reading than any other outlet…since 1999!
Done and done… you have been a source of ongoing entertainment and boobies for many years…if I as a mere pensioner can afford $5 a month to help.out, the many, many, many people on here might be able to the same.
