I just mentioned her last week in my monologue about how it’s never too late for nudity. (I allowed room for one exception, the distinguished Ms Lockhart.)
As implied above, she did no nude scenes.
Her first IMDb credit was an unbelievable 87 years ago, playing Tiny Tim’s sister Belinda in A Christmas Carol. The parts of her parents, Bob Cratchit and wife, were played by her real-life parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart. June’s parents also starred together in my favorite movie, The Devil is a Sissy.
I’m fuckin’ witcha on the “my favorite” thing. I had never heard of that movie until this minute.
But it is now my favorite movie TITLE.
So why should we care? Because she was a smokin hottie who lived in a state of grace and gave birth to Anne Lockhart who would later grace us with some righteous 70s 80s nudity in Joyride (1977) and Young Warriors (1983).
June was that mom next door, wholesome, down to earth and yet somehow elegant. She has credits up to 2021 with a total of 179. She was no Eric Roberts, but that’s a good thing. She did many single episode TV appearances, but once you saw her, she was ingrained in your memory.
A raise of the cup to an old school actress and a long life well lived.

As a historian, knowing there was someone alive that stared into a camera in 1938 fascinates me.
