Why facts are boring:
Contrary to popular belief, there was no widespread wave of suicides, let alone people jumping from buildings, immediately following the 1929 crash.

As long as there is no theory of quantum gravity it’s all BS.

I haven’t even read the paper. I don’t know how the quantum of the gravity affects the nature of Hawking radiation, nor indeed how the problem of observational non-detection of rampant black holes in particle accelerators like LHC & RHIC is or is not solved by the new theory. The theory is renormalizable to first order, and assuming that persists to higher orders, we know there’s no gravitational singularity hiding behind the protective event horizon. But I’m not sure we’ll know exactly what the fate of an infalling particle will be. Will it wander around endlessly or form some new state of matter at the “core” whatever that could mean. I think having a believable quantum GR theory is not the magic bullet that dissolves all the problems in physics.
The paper is crap….it’s in a pay to publish journal. Not remotely prestigious.
I don’t disagree that it’s crap. But I’m not in any position to be authoritative in that opinion. And, your argument is just as ad-hominem as my claim that it’s prestigious. Which is actually fairly widely asserted. Pay-to-play is routine in order to make a paper Open Access nowadays, there are just fees to offset foregone revenue.
There have always been theories that both have gravity and quantum fields which are correct outside the intersection of strong effects of gravity & quantum fields. OTOH, what optimistic dreamers want from quantum gravity is a new theory that breaks one or the other or both, but they both emerge cleanly. In this new theory, what happens in the gap between the two would be obvious, or so they hope. If this kind of new theory were the theory, no such luck. Answers to many current questions would depend sensitively on fine details that may well turn out to be intractable to solve. Just as in QCD the critical process(es) binding quarks into stable hadrons & preventing the longevity of free quarks is(are) not analytically understood. Thus questions like what are the details that account for the mysteriously close values of their critical temperatures are still unanswered in any way that can be taught to a graduate student.
