This is a Swedish mini-series created from a script by the renowned auteur Ingmar Bergman.(AKA Faithless.)
FAITHLESS explores the relationship between love and passion. A renowned director, age 73, reunites with his former great love, a 75-year-old actress. Forty years prior, they had secretly fallen in love when the actress was married to the director’s best friend. They are now confronted with the painful consequences of their previous affair – not only for themselves, but for their families.
The elderly Bergman’s regrets about the indiscretions of his youth were presented from a different angle in a 2000 film, also named Trolösa, directed by Liv Ullmann.
