French period melodrama about an aging vampire. It’s reminiscent of the films of Jean Rollin.
In the heart of France, second half of the 19th century, Wladislas lives in his castle with his faithful servant, Tobiec. Wlad is a creature from another time, thirsty for blood and immortal, he can’t bear his extreme solitude anymore.
This is kind of a waste of time. It’s not a particularly artful clip, nor does it demonstrate technical expertise, and it’s cut to mimimize the nudity. Rollin did it better! For those completists among you, here’s Defoe’s film clip
